PAMACC coordinator for Ghana announced overall winner - APO Awards




DUBAI, UAE, June 10, 2015 -- Kofi Adu Domfeh, a member of the Pan African Media Alliance for Climate Change (PAMACC) and the coordinator for Ghana chapter has been announced the overall winner of the 2015 African Press Organization (APO) Energy Media Award.

Domfeh was present in Dubai where the awards were announced the Africa Energy Forum taking place between 8-11 June 2015. He has also won a year’s access to over 600 airport VIP lounges worldwide.

2015 is a critical year for humanity. Critical as the world leaders come together to agree to the Paris Climate Deal to tackle the greatest threat facing humanity. This year also witnesses new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that will offer a global strategic framework for the coming decade and a half, slated to be finalized in September in New York.
Climate change is one of the key transformative issues under discussions in the new development framework succeeding MDGs.

Tackling climate change is critical for achieving Sustainable Development Goals-Research

A new research by HR Wallingford, Metroeconomica and the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN) shows that a high-ambition global climate agreement will be essential to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the goals for eradicating poverty and ensuring access to energy for all. The report “The impact of climate change on the achievement of the post-2015 sustainable development goals” was presented by the authors at an internationally live streamed event in London.

African fish Industry in Peril as Global warming intensifies

Inside the hall, officials reflect on how dangerous climate change has become to mankind and insist that the time to act is now. But Ana`s thoughts are buried in the nostalgia of the days when fish was caught in abundance and how she used to go fishing with her father in Chimbote, in the countryside of northern Peru.
